Command

Set IP address to ATM channel using PPP-vcmux
encapsulation

Description

Assigns an IP address to the specified logical ATM
channel using ppp-vcmux encapsulation.

Syntax

set ip ip-ppp {vccx} address [ip_address]

Arguments

The first argument identifies the ATM channel (vccx, x =
1 ... 8). If there is only one ATM channel using ppp-
vcmux encapsulation you can leave the argument

vccx

out. If you specify an IP address other than 0.0.0.0,
your Nokia M10 will not negotiate its IP address with
the remote peer. If the remote peer does not accept the
IP address specified in the

ip_address

argument as

valid, the link will not come up. The default value for the

ip_address

argument is 0.0.0.0, which indicates that

the WAN port will use the IP address assigned to it by
the remote peer. Note that the remote peer must be
configured to supply an IP address to your Nokia M10 if
you enter 0.0.0.0 for the

ip_address

argument.

Example

m10> set ip ip-ppp vcc2 address 0.0.0.0

Command

Set peer IP address

Description

Specifies the IP address of the peer on the other end of
the logical ATM link using ppp-vcmux encapsulation.

Syntax

set ip ip-ppp {vccx} peer-address [ip_address]

Arguments

The first argument identifies the ATM channel (vccx, x =
1 ... 8). If there is only one ATM channel using ppp-
vcmux encapsulation you can leave the argument

vccx

out.

If you specify an IP address other than 0.0.0.0,

your Nokia M10 will not negotiate the remote peer’s IP
address. If the remote peer does not accept the ad-
dress in the

ip_address

 argument as its IP address

(typically because it has been configured with another
IP address), the link will not come up. The default value
for the

ip_address

 argument is 0.0.0.0, which indi-

cates that the WAN port will accept the IP address re-
turned by the remote peer. If you enter 0.0.0.0, the peer
system must be configured to supply this address.

Example

m10> set ip ip-ppp vcc2 peer-address
0.0.0.0
