INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The binoculars you have acquired are a top product with precision-me-
chanical parts. It is a product of the highest demands of optical imaging
performance, according to the latest developments in the optical calculation
and optical technology and is robust in processing. Both variants of this se-
ries, the one with compass (see cover at front) and the one without compass
(see cover at rear), are designed as models for people who wear glasses, are
filled with nitrogen and are pressure-water-tight. Model 7x50 C is equipped
with a lighted compass and graticule and can be user for rangefinding.

START-UP
Inserting and removing the battery
First, the battery compartment cap (1) on the objective lens side of the bin-
oculars must be unscrewed (counterclockwise). Then, two lithium batteries
LR 43 (included in delivery) must be inserted resp. removed into/from the
battery compartment, with the plus-side outwards. After that, the cap must
be screwed in again. The service life of the battery in continuous operation
is 5-10 hours.
Adaptation of the eyecup
Both models are equipped with fold-back eyecups (2). It helps people who
wear glasses and also normal-sighted observers to use the entire visual field
of the binoculars. When using the device, people who wear glasses should
turn inside out the eyecups and thus they achieve the correct eyepiece - eye
distance. The normal-sighted people and people who wear contact lenses
should leave the eyecup in the stretched status.
Eye distance
In order to obtain a large, circular and sharply defined image, the binoculars
must be adjusted to the eye distance of the respective user. This correction
is made by bending the glass around its middle joint (3) until the two visual
fields of the right and left scopes completely cover each other when viewing
an object.
Adjustment of acuteness of vision and eye defects compensation
Both binoculars variants have an easy-to-use single-eyepiece adjustment
and allows the adjustment of the visual acuity from ± 5.0 dpt. The eye de-
fects compensation is done by adjusting the diopter ring (4) of the right and
left eyepieces individually for each eye. When looking through, the picture is
