HOUR METER (Option)
The hour meter records number of hours the machine
has been powered on. Use the hour meter to
determine when to perform recommended
maintenance procedures and to record service history
(Figure 19). Order part number #612939 for the field
install kit.
FIG. 19
LOW VOLTAGE PAD SHUT-OFF METER
(Drive Model – Option)
The Low Voltage Pad Shut-off Meter Option will shut
off the power to the pad motor when the battery
discharge level nears recharging time. This allows the
operator to use the remaining battery charge to
transport the machine to the charging station
(Figure 20).
Meter Operation: As the batteries discharge to a low
level, one LED light on the meter will begin to blink,
signalling the operator it’s nearing time to recharge the
batteries. When two LED lights on the meter begin to
blink alternately, the power to the pad motor will
automatically shut off. At this time, transport machine
to charging station.
Order part number #612941 for the field install kit.

CHARGING BATTERIES
NOTE: Recharge batteries ONLY after a total of 30
minutes of use or more. This will prolong battery life.
The following charging instructions are intended
for supplied 36V chargers only. Use only a charger
with the following specifications to prevent
battery damage.
CHARGER SPECIFICATIONS:
S
OUTPUT VOLTAGE - 36 VOLTS
S
OUTPUT CURRENT - 25 AMPS MAXIMUM
S
AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF CIRCUIT
S
FOR DEEP CYCLE BATTERY CHARGING
NOTE: For optimum machine operation, keep
batteries charged at all times. Never let batteries set in
a discharge condition for lengthy periods.
WARNING: Batteries emit hydrogen gas.
Explosion or fire can result. Keep sparks and
open flame away. Keep battery compartment open
when charging.
FOR SAFETY: When servicing machine, wear
protective eyewear and gloves when handling
batteries or battery cables. Avoid contact with
battery acid.
1.
Transport the machine to a flat, dry surface in a
well– ventilated area for charging.
2.
Turn all switches to the OFF position and remove
key if equipped.
FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing machine,
stop on level surface and turn off machine.
3.
Unlatch and hinge open both the dust bag hood
and the battery hood to access the battery
compartment.
4.
Check fluid level (A) in each battery cell. Do not
charge batteries unless fluid is slightly covering
battery plates (B). If needed, add just enough
distilled water to slightly cover plates. DO NOT
overfill. Batteries can overflow during charging due
to expansion. Replace cell caps before charging
(Figure 21).
