3.10.4 Diesel Engine Battery Cable Connection
Battery cables must be connected in the following order:
1.
The control mode of fire pump control panel must be“OFF (stop)”mode;
2.
All switches inside the control panel must be in the“OFF (stop)”state;
3.
For the 24VDC system, the cable is used to connect the two of 12VDC batteries in
series;
4.
Through cable respectively connect the positive pole (+) of battery 1# with the battery
contactor 1#, and the positive pole (+) of battery 2# with the battery contactor 2#;
5.
The electric cable connects the battery cathode (-) to the metal shell of the diesel
engine.
Note: when connecting the battery cable, the positive electrode must be connected to the
battery contactor, prior to connect the negative electrode to the metal shell of the diesel
engine. When removing the battery cable, the battery cable at the negative end of the
battery must be removed first, and then the positive connection cable.
