3.7 Fuel Tank Installation
1.
The installation height of fuel tank is determined by the height H of “engine fuel pump”.
The “fuel output connector” of fuel tank should be basically the same as the height of
diesel engine fuel pump;
2.
The pipe resistance of fuel return pipe connected between fuel tank and diesel engine
should not be greater than the output pressure of fuel return of diesel engine, to avoid
the excess fuel can not return to the fuel tank, resulting in engine failure;
3.
The material of oil supply and return pipeline shall be 304 stainless steel or manganese
steel (galvanized steel tube is prohibited), and the size of connecting pipeline shall be
1/2";
4.
Do not install valves on fuel return lines. If a valve is installed at the fuel tank outlet, the
valve must be locked in the open position;
5.
The fuel temperature rises will produce toxic flammable gas when the engine returns to
the fuel tank during operation. Therefore, the ventilation device of the fuel tank must be
extended to be installed outside the fire pump house, and the installation height should
not be less than 2m.
