Fol low all nec es sary lock out/tagout pro ce dures.

Hy drau lic sys tems have re sid ual, stored pres sure. Re lieve all pres sure
from the hy drau lic sys tem be fore ser vic ing.
•
Al low fluid to cool be fore work ing on sys tem.
•
Hy drau lic fluid es cap ing un der pres sure can have suf fi cient force to
en ter eyes and pen e trate skin. If fluid gets in eyes or skin, flush with
large quan ti ties of wa ter and seek med i cal at ten tion.
•
Wear eye pro tec tion when ser vic ing hy drau lic com po nents or
sys tems.
•
Keep all hoses and con nec tions in good ser vice able con di tion. Check
be fore start-up and pe ri od i cally dur ing op er a tion.
•
Do not in ves ti gate for leaks with hands. Use a large piece of
card board.
• To min i mize risk of fire or ex plo sion, fol low these bat tery ser vic ing safety
pre cau tions:
•
Sul fu ric bat tery acid is poi son ous. Avoid breath ing bat tery fumes.
•
Bat tery acid is strong enough to burn skin and cause blind ness if splashed
into the eyes. Pro tect eyes and skin from con tact. In the event of con tact with
bat tery acid, im me di ately rinse in large amounts of wa ter. Ob tain med i cal
care if the eyes are burned.
•
Bat tery gas can ex plode. Keep sparks and flame away from bat tery.
•
Never check bat tery charge by plac ing a metal ob ject across the
bat tery posts. A spark will oc cur and cause pos si ble ex plo sion. Use a
volt me ter or hy drom e ter.
• To avoid falls and in jury, stand only on ar eas con structed with “gripstrut” or
an other skid re sis tant sur face. Keep these sur faces in ser vice able con di tion.
• Never make any al ter ations or mod i fi ca tions to this equip ment in clud ing
dis abling safety de vices or in ter locks.
• Be fore start ing re pairs which do not re quire bat tery power, al ways turn off the
key switch, then dis con nect the bat tery con nec tor from the bat tery to pre vent
ac ci den tal short cir cuit.
• Be cer tain area is clear of peo ple and other equip ment be fore start ing
op er a tion.
• Keep ma chine clear of for eign ob jects and clean of grease/oil and other
lu bri cants.
