Selecting a Scene Mode (Features)
Use of a tripod is recommended in the scene modes indicated with

, due to the slow shutter
speeds. Set Vibration reduction in the setup menu (

74) to Off when using a tripod to stabilize
the camera during shooting.

The camera detects a human face and focuses on it (

•
The camera smoothes skin tones by applying the skin softening function (

•
If no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame.

Digital zoom is not available.
•
The camera continuously adjusts focus even when the shutter-release button is not
pressed halfway. As a result, you may hear the sound of the lens focus motor.

When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus areas or focus indicator

Use the scene effect adjustment slider (

33) to adjust image saturation.

The camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame. The focus area can be
changed with the touch shutter or touch AF/AE option (
