By default, exposure compensation returns to
±
0.0 EV when the mode dial is turned to a new setting
or the camera is turned off. If desired, the camera can be set to “remember” the exposure-compensa-
tion value (
155), restoring it the next time the mode dial is set to AUTO, SCENE, P, A, or CSM
(exposure mode P or A).
Exposure compensation can also be set using the EXPOSURE OPTIONS >
Exp. +/–
item in the
SHOOTING menu (
102).
Exposure compensation is not available in manual exposure mode, when the user adjusts exposure
directly by adjusting shutter speed and aperture (
72).
