5 Usage
• Don’t drive the reducer with large excessive moments of inertia which could exert a large back driving load on the worm reducer.
• Before use, please check and make sure that the reducer center of distance, ratio, shaft connections, output shaft structure, input
and output shaft direction and rotating direction are correct according to requirements. Input speeds of the worm shaft should be
less than 2000 rpm. The general speeds range is 600-1800 rpm.
• Make sure that worm reducer has the proper amount of lubricant before startup.
• The load should be added incrementally when using the machine. Never run it with full load at start-up.
• When the ambient temperature is 5°C above or below the normal level stated in the table, please contact us.
• When abnormal circumstances occur, please stop and check the reducer against the ”Malfunctions” table 3. (Allowable maximum
operation oil temperature is 95°C.
• Please active the air vent or the breather valve as following steps before startup.
a) Activating an air vent with cone plug
b) Activating the breather valve
• Worm reducers require a run-in period of at least 24 hours before reaching its maximum effi
ciency. If normal operation requires,
gearbox to rotate in both directions, each direction needs to separately rotate for some time.
6 Check and Maintenance
6.1 Maintenance Intervals
6.2 Lubricants
• Please change the oil when the oil is warm.
• Helpful and safe tips: Shut down the power to prevent personnel injury! Allow the until to cool by touch so it doesn’t feel
hot by the gearbox.
• The gearbox must still be warm otherwise the high viscosity of excessively cold oil will make it hard to drain the oil.
1. Place a container underneath the oil drain plug.
2. Remove vent plug on breather valve and cone plug.
3. Drain all of the oil and clean the inside, then re-screw oil drain plug.
4. Pour in new oil of the some type through the vent hole. Do not mix synthetic lubricants.
• The worm reducer must still be warm otherwise the high viscosity of excessively cold oil will make it hard to fi ll with oil.
- Pour in the volume of oil in accordance with the lubricant capacity table.
- Screw the breather plug back into place, and check readings at the oil level plug.
