Stopping the Tablet PC
At the end of a working session, you can stop or shutdown the tablet PC
by turning off the power or leaving the tablet PC in Standby or Hiberna-
tion mode:
In this chapter, you will learn information about the use of the MRC2100.
If you are new to tablet PCs, reading this chapter will help you learn the
operating basics. If you are familiar to tablet PCs, you may choose to read
only the parts containing information unique to your system.
Starting and Stopping the Tablet PC
There are numerous ways to start and stop your tablet PC.
Starting the Tablet PC
Always start the MRC2100 by pressing the power button . Your MRC2100
is pre-loaded with XP Pro for embedded Operating System (OS). The sys-
tem will automatically load the OS after you turn it on.
Note: According to XP Pro for embedded user agreement, the
OS is intended for specific embedded application use only. This
agreement prohibits end user to install any comical software,
such as email, word processor, worksheet, database, schedule,
and financial applications directly onto this device. The device
must access these applications through its application server.

your operating system.

Standby
If the Standby setting is enabled in
Windows, you can place the tablet
PC in Standby mode by pressing the
power button.

Hibernation If the Hibernation setting is enabled in
Windows, your settings in Windows,
you can place the tablet PC in Hiber-
nation mode by pressing the power
button.
Press the power
button.
The Standby and Hibernation modes are designed to quit and resume to
work quickly, you can return to where you left off the next time you start
up the tablet PC. (See “Managing Power” in Chapter 3 for more informa-
tion.)
