XPS-RL Quick Start
Click “ INITIALIZE ”. The State number changes from 0 to 42 and the Action button
changes from “ INITIALIZE ” to “ HOME ”. Click “ HOME ”. The stage starts moving
to find its reference position. When done, the state number is 11 and the action button is
“ DISABLE ”. Enter an allowed position value in the “ Absolute move 1 ” field and click
“ GO ”. The stage moves to this absolute position.
Your system is now ready to use. For more advanced functions, please read the rest of
this manual.
2.6.4 Manual Configuration for non Newport stages
To configure the XPS-RL controller to stages or positioning devices not made by
Newport, use the tool “ Create custom stages ” under the main tab “ Stages ”. For
detailed information about this tool, please refer to Appendix F: “Configuration
Wizard” in the XPS-RL User's Manual.
2.7 System Shut-Down
To shut down the system entirely, perform the following procedure:
Wait for the stage(s) to complete their moves and come to a stop.
Turn off the power using the power switch located above the power cord at the back of
the controller.
