Before installing a UX chassis, verify that your installation site meets the following requirements:

UX Series equipment must be installed in restricted access areas such as dedicated equipment room, or electrical closet, in accordance with Articles
110-26 and 110-27 of the 1999 United States National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70.

RESTRICTED ACCESS LOCATION
Access can only be gained by service persons or by users who have been instructed about the reasons for the restrictions applied to the location
and about any precautions that shall be taken; and
Access is through the use of a tool or lock and key, or other means of security, and is controlled by the authority responsible for the location.
Chassis Mounting Space
To ensure proper chassis cooling, allow a minimum of 3 inches (7.5 cm) horizontal (side-to-side) clearance between the chassis and any adjacent
equipment. Allow a minimum clearance of 32 inches (81 cm) behind the chassis for proper insertion and extraction of interface cards and power
supplies. There are no clearance requirements above or below the chassis. More than one chassis can be mounted in a standard seven (7) foot rack.
These space requirements must be met to comply with Telcordia and Euro ISDN (ETSI) standards.
When installing the chassis, allow space around the chassis for proper air flow through the unit.

To ensure proper cooling, the heat and exhaust generated by adjacent equipment must be considered when installing the UX chassis.
The air inlet is on the left side. The air exhaust for the power supplies is towards the rear. The air exhaust for the rest of the system is
towards the right side of the chassis.
Equipment Rack
UX Series rack-mounted equipment requires an EIA-standard 19 inch equipment rack with either 4 posts or 2 posts.
4-Post Rack Depths
Mounting equipment is provided for 4-post equipment racks with a depth of 24 or 30 inches.
Power Connections
Provide AC power of nominal 120V/60Hz or 240V/50Hz for the equipment rack or shelf where the UX system is installed. For each line feed supplied to
the rack or shelf, a dedicated primary branch circuit protection is required.
UX Series equipment must be provided with dedicated branch circuit protection as a means of disconnecting the (electric) main to
ensure the proper operation of and the safety of the persons servicing and operating this equipment. Therefore, the customer must
provide an external circuit breaker that conforms to local electrical codes.
Power connections to UX Series equipment must be provided from branch mains installed by a trained service personnel. For minimum wire
