Category 3 (CAT3):
A twisted pair cable that meets specified requirements for 10 Mbps
networking up to 328 ft. (100m).
Category 5 (CAT5):
A shielded twisted pair cable that meets requirements for 10 and 100 Mbps
networking up to 328 ft. (100m).
Local Area Network (LAN):
A communications network within a limited area, such as one building.
TCP/IP:
Transfer Control Protocol (TCP) with Internet Protocol (IP). The main
internetworking protocol used in the Internet.
