Powering On Using An External Non-Latched Switch
If your application demands the system to be placed inside a cabinet, you may use
an external non-latched switch to power on/ off the system. The system provides a
3-pin “Remote On/ Off” plug for connecting a non-latched switch and acts as the
ATX-mode power on/off control switch. The external non-latched switch acts exactly
the same as the power button on the side panel. To setup and power on/ off the
system using an external non-latched switch (ATX-mode), please follow the steps
described below.
1.
Acquire a non-latched switch with 3-pin plug.
2.
Connect the non-latched switch to the Remote On/ Off plug.
3.
With DC power connected, pushing the power button will turn on the system
and the PWR LED indicator will light up. Pushing the button when system is on
will turn off the system. If your operating system supports ATX power mode (i.e.
Microsoft Windows or Linux), pushing the power button while the system is in
operation will result in a pre-defined system behavior, such as shutdown or
hibernation.
