Certain patient conditions can affect the measurements of the N

and cause the loss of the pulse signal.
Inaccurate measurements can be caused by:

prolonged patient movement
•
venous pulsations
•
intravascular dyes, such as indocyanine green or methylene
blue
•
defibrillation
