FlexFilter EX
EN
The side and rear cross beams are of different
lengths.
Attach the cross beams to the legs. The two side
beams shall be placed as shown in
cross beam can be placed either at the front (A) of the
frame or in the rear (B) (as shown) depending on the
required access to the FlexFilter EX.
The ends of the cross beams should be fitted
firmly onto the stand. Carefully tighten the gap
between the cross beam parts, ensuring that
the legs are not bent and that they are vertic-
al and parallel. Tighten the nuts A on the four
supports until the FlexFilter EX is stable and
locks them in position using the nuts B.
11.6 TVFD
Lift and position the TVFD as shown in
Remove the upper cover (see
/1) of the up-
per slide valve (USV) to access the inside of the valve.
Fit the bolts to secure the TVFD to the filter. Refit the
upper cover (see
/1).
To avoid the two centre bolts from interfering
with the valve, two washers must be fitted top
side of each of the two centre bolts (see
/2).
To ensure proper grounding, serrated washers
must be fitted to one of the bolts on both bolt
and nut side. (see
11.7 Control panel
The control panel is pre-fitted for front (A) access but
can be rearranged according to
(A for front
access or B for rear access).
11.8 Cable and hose routing
Cut and release the cable bundle from TVFD. Route
the cable bundle up towards the top module attach-
ing it to the clamps (see
/ A-C).
Fit the cleaning valve to the top module (see
/C).
Fit the Explosion Relief Panel Sensor bracket to the
relief panel frame (see
/D).
Connect the compressed air hoses from the TVFD to
the T-piece on the frame (see
Connect the two hoses from the control filter, marked
+ and -, to the hose inlets on the connection box (see
11.9 Bulk Bag and holders
Fit the chains to the frame (see
Place a bulk bag on a pallet and position it under the
FlexFilter EX. The strap on the TVFD outlet secures
the bulk bag opening to the TVFD outlet (see
Connect the four bulk bag corner straps to the chains
on the dust separator frame. Adjust the tension by
moving the quick link down or up the chain (see
The bulk bags should not hang by the corner
straps. Straps are only intended to keep the
bag from collapsing. The weight of the collec-
ted dust/material must be supported by the
pallet.
Connect the upper and lower ground wires to
the bag.
11.10 Accessories
Installation of deflector, service platform, ladder,
connection pice, fire alarm, filter alarm or other ac-
cessories is described in the manual for each respect-
ive product.
12 Duct dimensioning and installa-
tion
shows a typical vacuum duct system.
12.1 Requirements
Place a sign with the intended use of the vacuum sys-
tem on every user interface (workstation). Inform all
personnel of the intended use of the system. Ensure
that personnel using the equipment do not collect
items that may cause ignition or blocking.
It is strictly prohibited to collect material that can un-
dergo dangerous chemical or thermal reactions and/or
self-ignite.
Install an isolation device/valve (see
/E) to
prevent an explosion from striking back into the plant.
The pipe (see
/D) between the FlexFilter EX
and the insulation device/valve must be pressure-res-
istant to an overpressure of at least 0.5 BAR and have
a minimum length as specified in the manual for the
insulation device.
All connecting piping must be conductive and groun-
ded.
12.2 Recommendations
It is important to use a correct duct diameter to avoid
pressure losses and dust deposits in the duct system.
Ensure that the correct transport velocity is achieved.
The correct velocity depends on the properties of the
transported material. Some composite applications
can require velocities up to 25 m/s (82 ft/s). Take ve-
locity into account when choosing the pipe diamet-
ers. The velocity should never decrease en route to
