Before Requesting Service
Before requesting service, check the following items.
PROBLEM
No Power
Video cassette cannot be inserted
Auto Play does not work
TV programmes cannot be recorded
Timer recording does not work
No playback picture
Playback picture is noisy or contains
streaks
Top of playback pictures waves
back and forth excessively
Is tracking correct?
Adjust the horizontal hold control on
the TV.
If no result, play another tape.
If the picture is still noisy, then press
CH/TRK (

) to set correct
tracking.
Is TV tuned to the VCR RF output
channel?
Tune the TV to the VCR’s RF output
channel.
Is connection between VCR and
aerial correct?
Has the receiving channel of VCR
been tuned correctly?
Is erasure prevention tab intact?
Has the recording start / end times
been set correctly?
Is the timer recording
indicator TIMER lit?
Check and correct the connections.
Tune into the channel correctly.
If broken off, fix adhesive tape over
the hole.
Set the times correctly.

If there is a power interruption
before or during timer recording,
timer recording will be interrupted.
Make sure the timer recording
indicator TIMER lights.
Is erasure prevention tab intact?
Auto Play only works when erasure
prevention tab has been broken off.
Is there a video cassette already in?
Replace it.

Insert the video cassette with the
window side up and the safety tab
facing you.
Unit plugged in?
Plug in the power cord and switch on.
