Be sure to read and understand these precautions in order to use this product safely. 
When installing this product in a rack, be sure to read the rack user's guide before installation. 

 

 

CAUTION 

Ignoring these precautions when handling this product can lead to malfunctions of the main 
unit, injuries, fire, and damage to peripheral equipment. 

 

 

Be sure not to smash or jam fingers when installing/uninstalling this product 
on/from a rack. 

 

 

After removing this product from its packaging, do not place it where it will be 
exposed to large amounts of dust, water or other liquids. 

 

 

Make sure that the rack is securely installed before attaching any optional 
products to it, such as exterior equipment. Doing so can cause damage to the 
product, cause the rack to fall over or other accidents.

 

 

When conducting work at the top of the rack, be sure to use a stepladder, etc., 
to ensure safety. 

 

 

When installing or uninstalling exterior equipment, be sure to work in teams of 
two or more people. Ignoring this can lead to injuries and damage to the 
product. 

 

We recommend asking a maintenance and after-service company to install/uninstall this product 
on/from a rack. 

Preface 

 

 

This product is a dedicated rack mount tray for the 25U, 37U and 42U racks 
(N8140-500/501/502/503[F]/504/505[F]/506/510[F]). This product can be used as a mounting 
tray to put anything.

Maintenance 

 

 

Vibrations can cause screws, bolts and other fasteners to loosen. Inspect these fasteners every 
six months to make sure that they are not loose.

Installation 

 

 

When installing this product in a rack, be sure to also read the rack user's guide before installation. 
For installing this product, the front and rear mount angles are required to comply with EIA and cage 
nut type. Furthermore, the distance between mount angles is required more than 600 mm. 

 

Handling Devices 

 

Maximum load capacity of this product is 100 kg. Over weight 
could cause the equipment to fall off and the rack to tip. 

 

It is very dangerous to carry heavy load. In such case, wear 
suitable protective equipment. Otherwise, It could cause injury. 

Falling-off Caution 

 

Do not mount and apply pressure to the base plate with slits. 
Doing so could cause the device to fall off. 

 

Don not put the larger things than the outline of the base plate. 
Doing so could cause the device to fall off and damage it. 

 

When mounting the device, secure it with restraint straps and 
holes for earthquake-proofing. Doing so could cause the device to 
fall off and the rack to tip. 

Installation Caution 

 

When installing this product, tighten the screws securely. If tightening 
is insufficient, the device could fall off and be damaged. Be careful not 
to over

tighten though, as this could break them. The standard 

tightening torque for M5 screws is 3.43N·m [35kgf·cm] (±10%). 

 

CAUTION 

 

Do not turn the fastener more than 
90 for installation degrees. Doing so 
could cause to damage it. 

 

1. Installation of L Type Rails   

Adjust the length of L type rails and hook them on front and rear square holes of mount angles. 
The position of the holes used is upper hole of mounting position (on 1U height). (Fig.1, 2) 
Make sure that the number of mounting position is the same in number with front and rear, 
right and left. 
Use holes of mount angles and secure the rails to the mount angles with provided M5 screws. 
The position of the holes used is lower hole of mounting position (on 1U height). (Fig.1, 2) 

 

2. Installation of Base Plate with Slits 

Insert the hook of the base plate into the rear rectangle holes of the L type rails. (Fig.3) 
Position adjusting by inserting the projection of the base plate into the front rectangle holes of 
the L type rails. (Fig.3) 
Insert the provided fastener into the hole on the front face of the base plate and turn it 90 
degrees clockwise for installation by flathead screwdriver, etc. (Fig.4) 

 
 

 

 
 

 

 
 
 

Removing Base Plate with Slits 

 

 

When removing the base plate, turn the 
fastener 90 degrees counterclockwise to 
unlock. (Fig.5) 
After pull the fastener forward, remove the 
base plate. (Fig.5) 
Do not pull out the fastener fully.
