Command details
Overwrite Mode
In
this
mode,
the
cursor
moves
from
left
to
right,
beginning
at
the
upper
left
position.
When
the
cursor
reaches
the
end
of
the
upper
line,
it
then
moves
to
the
beginning
(left
end)
of
the
bottom
line.
When
the
cursor
reaches
the
end
of
the
bottom
line,
it
then
moves
back
to
beginning
of
the
upper
line
and
overwrites
the
previous
characters.
Vertical Scroll Mode
In
this
mode,
the
cursor
moves
from
left
to
right,
beginning
at
the
upper
left
position.
When
the
cursor
reaches
the
end
of
the
upper
line,
it
then
moves
to
the
beginning
(left
end)
of
the
bottom
line.
Horizontal Scroll Mode
In
this
mode,
the
horizontal
movement
of
the
cursor
is
limited
to
a
predefined
range
and
is
limited
to
the
upper
line.
(See
the
Set
or
Cancel
Window
command
to
set
the
default
window
as
the
entire
upper
line.)
The
cursor
moves
from
left
to
right,
beginning
at
the
left
end
of
the
range
,
and
moves
to
the
right
until
it
reaches
the
end
of
the
range
.
Additional
characters
then
push
the
existing
characters
to
the
left,
scrolling
the
characters
to
the
left.
