LP Gas Fossill 30 Fire Pit Installation Instructions
+
Step 2
: Install first row of block (7 blocks and the key valve block). Using a
center stake, lay out the blocks in a 16” radius from the center stake to the center
of the back of each block. Level the blocks from front to back and side to side.
Blocks may need to be shifted slightly in order to get a tight fit between all the
blocks on the first course. Position the key valve block where desired for ease of
operation.
Step 3
: Install second row of blocks (8 units). Place the first block on top of the
bottom block staggering the intersection of two blocks on the row below.
Continue around the circle making slight adjustments as needed so that the edge of
the blocks fit tightly in the circle.
Step 4
: Install the caps (8 units). Place the first top cap directly over one of the
blocks in the second course allowing the cap to overhang the front of the block
(Fig 3). Continue around the circle making slight adjustments as needed so that the
edges of the caps fit tightly in the circle.
Step 1
: Level the pad. Level a 48” circular area of gravel or rock on compacted
soil with the top of the pad being 1” below grade.
Fire Pit enclosure parts list: 19 blocks, 1 Key valve block (block with hole), 8 top
caps.
Important Product Information
The fire pit concrete blocks can crack due to high temperatures. These blocks are
manufactured to meet industry standards and guidelines for retaining wall units
(per ASTM standards). They are made with natural aggregates so some color
variation is normal and efflorescence (a white powdery deposit that can appear on
concrete products) may occur and can be washed off using an efflorescence
cleaner. For more information contact us at
Step 5:
Install the burner pan support. Place the 4 remaining blocks double
stacked as shown. The top of these blocks should be level with the top row of
blocks. Set the burner pan in place to ensure a proper fit. Once the “dry fit” is
complete, remove the burner pan. The remove the caps and top row of blocks one
by one and glue together with a quality concrete adhesive. Use the enclosed gas
line installation instructions to finish the assembly.
