For single device loads (not recommended), it’s more versatile to do a mult-device Load:
At this point some important information is seen on the screen and the setup procedure follows:
1-
Connect the supplied USB cable to power up the device (
do not connect the FISP to the Target
or device to be programmed yet
).
See the note below for the older Serial Port FISPs.
2- Depending on the FISP application code version and the firmware version on the FISP, a pop-
up screen may be seen that requests an FISP upgrade, this should be done but
NOTE that
power MUST NOT BE INTERRUPTED
during the process or the FISP may become unusable.
3- The bottom left shows that a FISP is recognized and it’s type (FISP-USB), firmware version (Ver
4.9 / 5.1) and serial number (SNo24010622) is displayed.
4- Center bottom shows that the FISP is NOT connected to the Target processor (Console or
VSD).
5- At the top, the “Project” Dot is checked and shows that the correct program is loaded onto the
PC awaiting download to the FISP.
6- DO NOT CHANGE the settings in the Advanced or Device Option buttons or unstable operation
of the programmed device may occur. This new version of loader allows locking the options
and on future releases it will be activated. It is strongly recommended that the person using
this new routine to “click” Project then Edit Settings and check the Lock Project box.
7- With the project loaded, check the Project Window and file names for the correct versions.
8- “Click” on the FISP Button on the bottom, verify the below screens show progress and upon
completion, visually check the entire sequence has loaded correctly with “OK” and no
“ERROR”s showing as the process checks are scrolled through.
