SECTION 1.7: PROGRAM INPUTS
The VX series transmitter accepts a variety of analog and digital program inputs. This section describes
the requirements associated with the audio feeds to the transmitter. All connections are made at the
rear of the transmitter (see
Figure 1.7.1: on page 1.7.5 ). Where D-sub connectors are used as the
interface, Nautel provides associated mating connectors in the ancillary parts kit to facilitate customer
connections.

Analog Inputs
Each VX series transmitter exciter accepts the following analog inputs:
Left and Right Inputs
Balanced analog left/right or monaural input (left only) (30 Hz to 15 kHz, -12 to +12 dBu) can be
applied to
ANALOG AUDIO IN,
3-pin female XLR connectors. The VX series transmitter’s remote AUI or
front panel UI allows for configuration of the audio input mode (left, right or stereo). Provision is made
for adjustment of the input sensitivity and pre-emphasis, adjustable between -12 and +12 dBu.
