(o) Verify the settings in the Peripherals -> Keyer Settings -> Keyer Sequence, Standby
Code 1 and Standby Code 2 menus are the same as recorded in steps 3 (f) and (g).
(p) In the Changeover Control menu, set the Main side to A so that the transmitter switches
to operate on side A.
(q) Set transmitter to operate at desired output power and modulation level.
(r) In the Changeover Control menu, set the Main side to B so that the transmitter switches
to operate on side B.
(s) Verify the modulation and power level are the same as side A operation. If not adjust
power level using the
GAIN TRIM
potentiometer R31 on the side B interphase PDM
driver PWB (A9) and modulation depth using the Side B Scale value in the Peripherals ->
Keyer Settings -> Audio Levels menu.
(t) Compute the power and mod % thresholds as detailed in paragraph 3.6.7 of the
Vector-LP manual.
3.2 DGPS Applications
(a) Remove any ac power “lock out” devices and apply ac power (and dc power source, if
applicable) to the transmitter.
(b) Terminate the transmitter’s RF output in a suitable 50 ohm dummy load.
(c) In the Changeover Control menu, set Monitor mode to BYPASS and Main side to A.
(d) Set the transmitter RF output power to 0 W (press
Power Increase
and
Decrease
buttons at the same time).
(e) Press
RF On
and increase the RF output power to 25 W.
(f) In the Changeover Control menu, set the Main side to B so that the transmitter switches
to operate on side B.
(g) Verify the transmitter RF output power is 25 W. If the transmitter power is not 25 W,
adjust
GAIN TRIM
potentiometer R31 on the side B interphase PDM driver PWB (A9)
until the output power is 25 W.
(h) In the Changeover Control menu, set the Main side to A so that the transmitter switches
to operate on side A.
(i) Set transmitter to operate at desired output power level.
(j) In the Changeover Control menu, set the Main side to B so that the transmitter switches
to operate on side B.
(k) Verify the power level is the same as side A operation. If not adjust power level using the
GAIN TRIM
potentiometer R31 on the side B interphase PDM driver PWB (A9).
(l) Compute the power and mod % thresholds as detailed in paragraph 3.6.7 of the
Vector-LP manual.
