5.1 UVW and XYZ Output Signals
The Trillium Compact can be configured to output either XYZ or UVW signals. The “natural”
output is UVW where the outputs represent the motions in the direction of sensitivity of the
three sensor components. The “conventional” seismometer output is XYZ where the outputs
represent horizontal and vertical motion of the seismometer. When you change the output
mode, the seismometer will respond within 4 s.

the Trillium Compact axes are identical and sense motion in orthogonal directions. The U axis
is aligned with the X axis when projected into the horizontal plane.
