MAINTENANCE (Image K)
Everyday maintenance
A. Check the air filter and remove dirt and debris.
B. Check the fastening nuts and make sure they are tight.
C. Check the engine oil level and make sure it is within limits.
After 25 hours of operation, the air filter should be cleaned.
After 50 hours of operation, the spark plug should be checked, cleaned of debris and the gap adjusted to 0.7-0.8 mm if necessary.
Check the cooling fins and remove any dirt between them.
Replacing of engine oil: Unscrew the drain plug, tilt the engine slightly and drain the oil out, add kerosene for cleaning and then drain it out, finally tighten the
drain plug and fill with clean unused oil to the specified level.
After every 100 hours of operation, the fuel tank and filter must be cleaned. Open the fuel tank cap, remove the filter and clean it using a brush. Remove the
fuel tank, clean the inside of the tank and remove any debris and water that is inside the tank. Reinstall the tank and filter, then refill with clean fuel to the
specified level.
After every 2 years, check the condition of the oil tubes. If there is any hardening, cracking or other sign of damage, they should be replaced. Tighten the
replaced oil tube connections securely and check for any leaks.
Maintenance before storage for a longer period
If the engine will not be used for a long period of time, maintenance should be carried out before storing it:
Α. Remove the fuel tank, drain all fuel and clean from any dirt residue or water inside. Open the fuel valve, unscrew the drain plug located at the bottom of the
carburetor, drain out the fuel thoroughly, then screw the drain plug back into its original position.
B. Unscrew the drain plug located at the bottom of the crankcase and drain all the lubricating oil, then tighten the drain plug.
C. Clean the outer surface of the engine with a clean cotton cloth, remove any dirt, dust residue, etc., then store the engine in a clean and dry area with
adequate ventilation.
D. Turn the crankshaft until the piston comes up against the top dead center position to prevent air from entering the cylinder.
Discard of used oil
Please use a suitable container to collect any used oil and deliver it to a special recycling center. Do not dispose of oil down the drain, on the ground or with
household waste.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
Be extra careful with the engine when loading and unloading, place it in an upright position and on an even floor. Take the necessary measures to prevent
impact and damage during transportation. The engine must be stored in a clean, moisture-free and waterproof place with adequate ventilation.
In case you are going to store the engine for a long time, drain the fuel completely from the engine, as well as the air filter oil.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Cause
Solution
No spark at the spark plug.
Spark Plug
Combustion residues in the spark
plug.
Spark plug gap too large or too small.
Spark plug insulation worn out.
Clean deposit.
Adjust gap to 0.7-0.8mm.
Replace spark plug.
Other
Problem with the ignition system.
Reduced performance of the
flywheel.
Replace igniter.
Replace flywheel.
The spark plug is working properly
and creates a spark.
Compression is right.
Excessive amount of fuel in the
cylinder.
Small amount of fuel in the cylinder,
there are residues or water.
Screw out spark plug, dry and
screw in.
Renew fuel.
When unscrewing the drain plug of
the carburettor, no fuel flows out.
The pin valve is clogged.
Wash or replace carburettor.
Good oil supply but low compression. Worn piston spring.
Spark plug not screwed in properly.
Leakage in the cylinder head,
incorrect valve gap or wrong timing
Replace.
Screw in tight
Clean, reinstall or re-adjust.
The ignition and fuel supply do not
exhibit any problem.
Problem with the spark plug.
Short circuit or other problem in the
operating switch.
