User Guide
This manual describes the installation, operation, and configuration of the MultiTech
MTD100U ADSL USB Modem (hereafter referred to as the MTD100U Modem). It also
outlines the use of the Control Panel application program.
The following chapters are included in this manual:

Chapter 1:
“Overview” offers a brief description of ADSL, protocol and device driver
selection, and the features of the MTD100U Modem.

Chapter 2:
“Software Installation” provides detailed steps for installing the MTD100U
Modem for three types of device drivers: WAN, LAN and ATM. The installation
procedures for WAN and LAN device drivers are provided for the following operating
systems: Microsoft

98 First and Second Editions, and Windows 2000. ATM
device driver installation procedures are provided for Windows

Customizing Communication Settings. Describes screen steps to change
VPI, VCI, Encapsulation, and Modulation settings.

“MultiTech Control Panel Application” describes how to configure and
check the performance of the MTD100U Modem and the ADSL connection.

Software Uninstall. Describes screen steps for removing MTD100U
software.

Modifying TCP/IP Networking Options. Presents screen steps for
changing parameters like IP address, WINS, DNS, and gateway.

Warranty, Service, & Repair. Presents warranty language. Presents
addresses and instructions for service and repair.
