8.18.2 Battery-charging generator drive – Drive belt replacement

Preconditions

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Battery-charging generator
drive – Drive belt replacement

Remove protective cover.

Remove drive belt for fan drive (→ Page 138).

Undo securing screws (2) and (3).

Release tensioning nut (1) until the drive belt
can be removed.

Check belt pulleys for cleanliness, remove
dirt, if any.

Fit new drive belt.

Tension drive belt with tensioning nut (1) and
check belt tension (→ Page 132).

Tighten securing screw (2) to specified torque using a torque wrench.
