7.17.1 Charge-air coolant – Draining
Preconditions

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
WARNING
Coolant is hot and under pressure.
Risk of injury and scalding!
• Let the engine cool down.
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
Charge-air coolant – Draining
1.
Provide a suitable container to collect the
raw water.
2.
Open union nut on drain line (2) on driving
end and free end.
Result:
It may take a little time before raw water
first emerges from the intercooler drain
line.
3.
Wait until the raw water has drained com-
pletely from the intercooler.
4.
Close union nut on drain line (2).
