• Take special care when working on a running engine.
WARNING
Engine noise above 85 dB (A).
Risk of damage to hearing!
• Wear ear protectors.

Engine under load,
engine at nominal speed
Visually inspect engine for leaks and general condition;
Check for abnormal running noises and vibration;
Check exhaust color (→ Page 91).
Air filter
Check signal ring position of service indicator (→ Page 104).
Replace air filter (→ Page 102), if the signal ring is completely visible in the
service indicator control window.
Engine coolant pump
Check relief bore for oil and coolant discharge and contamination
(→ Page 114).
Engine oil
Check engine oil level (→ Page 106)
