MPC Keypad v4.00
The keypad allows you to send up to 90 bytes of
any
MIDI data before and/or
after the MIDI Patch Change and Bank Selects. This might consist of controller
changes or Sys Ex commands.
The top box, marked
Type: Predefined
, allows you to insert data using one of
the shown predefined types. You can even embed more patch changes or
System Exclusive data here. Or perhaps a volume or other controller setting
(though this is probably better served in the POST-data area).
As you make changes using the sliders in the predefined area, the status bar at
the very bottom shows what data would be inserted when you click the
Insert
button.
The center box, marked
Type: Custom
, lets you enter any data of your
choosing. The value 255 (0xFF) is reserved and cannot be used. You can enter
the data using decimal or hex. The table of results at the bottom shows the
cumulative MIDI data in hexadecimal format.
The delay slider is used to insert a 0 to 127ms delay
between each byte
in the
resulting table. Some synths cannot accept control data sent at full speed without
short pauses between bytes. If you are having problems, try setting the delay to
max and slowly reduce it after you have confirmed correct operation. This will
allow you to focus on getting the operations setup correctly, and later optimizing
for speed.
Use can use the mouse to select a point in the MIDI data table to work on. To
erase an individual byte, double-click the table cell.
Once you are happy with your created MIDI data, click
Accept
to close the MIDI
data editor. If you need to erase your MIDI data and start over, click
Erase All
.
