• When calculating the effective attenuation of the Supreme Ear Muffs, consideration
should be given to the output signals of the restoration system. The calculated A-
weighted sound level inside the ear cup should not exceed 85dB.
• Hearing protectors can interfere with vital communication and emergency sound.
Always ensure the product is matched to the wearer and the work environment.
• This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further infor-
mation should be sought from the manufacturer.
• In order to avoid long-term damage to the cushions this hearing protector should be
stored in an unfolded position.
• If the manufacturer’s instructions are not strictly followed the protection afforded by
the ear muffs may be severely impaired.
• The product as well as the batteries should be disposed of in accordance with nation-
al legislation.
BASIC FAULT FINDING
If the electronics cease to function please check the following:
• Remove the battery cover (fig B1) and hold for at least ten seconds to clear the memo-
ry of the electronic circuit board. Refit the battery cover (fig B5).
• Replace batteries if necessary.
• Check that the batteries are correctly installed and that poles are correctly aligned.
If the above actions do not help, contact your retailer.
NOTE. This product should not be modified or serviced other than as described in the
manufacturer’s instructions.
SOUND LEVEL LIMITATION
The output of the electronic sound reproduction system does not exceed the current val-
ues known to constitute a risk to hearing. The sound output of the speakers is limited to
a maximum value of 82 dB(A) equivalent sound level.
TESTS AND APPROVAL
The Supreme ear muffs meet the Basic Safety Requirements as laid out in Annex II of the
European Community Directive 89/686EEC and the requirements of the EMC directive
89/336/EEC for CE marking in accordance with EN50081-1, EN50082-2, prEN352-4 : 1994
and EN352-1 : 1993. The product has been examined at the design stage by
Berufsgenossenschaftliches Institut fur Arbeitssicherheit, Postfach 2043, Alte Heerstr,
111-D-53757 St Augustin, Germany (0121).
