Maintenance
WARNING!
Alterations of the device beyond the procedures described in this manual or by anyone other than a person
authorized by MSA, could cause the unit to fail to perform properly.
Do not attempt to repair the device. Repair of the device must be performed by a person authorized by MSA.
Failure to follow this warning can result in serious personal injury or death.
Before and after each use, check the proper fit of antenna connection. Tighten it if necessary to ensure proper
operation (→
).
The device is largely maintenance-free. It is recommended that the device is subject to regular visual inspections to
check whether there are any faults or damage.
Power on the device and check the LED status for possible malfunctions (→
).
5.1
Cleaning
NOTICE
Do not rub the device and never clean plastic surfaces with a dry cloth. Otherwise, electrostatic charges can occur
and damage the device. Always use a damp cloth instead.
Avoid alcoholic and chemical detergents. Otherwise, the device will be damaged and the labels might be
unreadable. Periodically clean the exterior of the device with a damp cloth.
The device components should be cleaned after each operation and, if badly contaminated, with a damp cloth (tepid
water) and a little detergent.
When cleaning the battery should always be connected to the device and the battery U-clip should be in the device.
5.2
Replacing the Battery
Due to storage and delivery times, it might be necessary to exchange batteries before putting the device into first
service.

Remove battery if device is stored for more than six months.

Never change batteries in hazardous areas.

Use only the battery included in the scope of delivery (10201874 →

The charging status of the batteries is monitored by the device. Low battery conditions can be recognized by the
