In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EC, the symbol affixed to
the device indicates that the device to be disposed of is classi-
fied as waste and is therefore subject to „waste separation“.
The consumer must deliver the specified waste to the collec-
tion points set up by the municipal administrations (or have
them delivered) or hand it over to the dealer when purchasing
a new device of the same type.
The separation of waste as well as the further steps of pro-
cessing, recycling and disposal promote the production of
equipment with recycled material and counteract damage to
the environment and health which could be caused by inap-
propriate waste disposal.
The illegal disposal of the product by a consumer may result
in the imposition of administrative penalties by the Member
State in which the product has been disposed of, as provided
for in the laws transposing Directive 2012/19/EC.
