Connecting to the ONT
If necessary, connect to the ONT to the home coaxial network. This example shows
connecting the Motorola ONT1000 model which does not have embedded Multimedia
over Coax Alliance (MoCA) technology.
CAUTION
Be sure the coaxial cabling on the customer premises is not connected to any digital
network or satellite dish.
Determine how to route the coaxial and Ethernet cables from the ONT into the home.
You may need to move an existing cable drop from its present location to where the
ONT is mounted.
To connect to the Motorola ONT1000:
1.
Open its door.
2.
Connect the customer’s premises coaxial cable wiring to the
CABLE OUT
port.
3.
Connect the customer’s premises Ethernet cabling to the
ETHERNET
port.
4.
If necessary, route the coaxial and Ethernet cables into the house.
5.
Close the ONT door and secure the ONT.
