Keypad Lock
Receiving Nextel Direct Connect Calls
When you receive an incoming Private Call, Group Call, or Call Alert (see
“Nextel Direct Connect®” on page 103), Keypad Lock is temporarily disabled.
Receiving New Voice Mail
When you receive new Voice Mail (see “Using Voice Mail” on page 83),
Keypad Lock is temporarily disabled.
Receiving New Text Messages
When you receive new Text Messages (see “Text and Numeric Messaging” on
page 98), Keypad Lock is temporarily disabled.

Press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the phone.
Begin talking after the phone emits a chirping sound. Release the PTT
button to listen.

When you end the call, the Recent Calls list appears. Press
e
or press
B
under EXIT to reactivate Keypad Lock and return to the idle screen.
When New Voice Mail Message displays, press
A
under EXIT to
return to the idle screen and reactivate Keypad Lock.
Or,
Press
B
under CALL to access Voice Mail. Once you have finished,
press
e
to exit Voice Mail. The Recent Calls list displays. Press
e
or
press
B
under EXIT to reactivate Keypad Lock and return to the idle
screen.
When New Text Message displays, press
A
under EXIT to return to
the idle screen and reactivate Keypad Lock.
Or,
Press
B
under READ to read the message. Press
B
under SAVE or
DELETE. Once you have finished, press
e
or press
A
under EXIT to
reactivate Keypad Lock return to the idle screen.
