COMPANDING
Companding is a collective term to define
comp
ressing the audio signal on transmission and
exp
anding
the audio signal on reception. The
overall effect is to reduce noise in the received
signal, giving you crisper, clearer audio clarity.
Companding should only be used when other radios
in your system have the same companding feature
available.
You can switch Companding
On
or
Off
by using a
pre-programmed
Companding
button or, via the
menu.
