Level III Service Manual Product Overview
USSD
This is a service whereby pressing a certain key or key combination while the
communicator is in idle mode (i.e., not in a call) allows the user to access special
network functions, such as help lines.
SIM Toolkit
The SIM Toolkit standard extends the role of the SIM card beyond its initial role
as an essentially passive network access and speech security implementation by
making it a key interface between the mobile terminal and the network. Using the
SIM Toolkit, the SIM card can be programmed to carry out new functions. These
include the ability to manipulate the menu structure of the mobile terminal to
provide new, tailored options for a high degree of personalization.
IR port, TrueSync

The IR port supports TrueSync
®
synchronization with computer and applications,
backup / transfer of information such as address book and calendar to and from
other devices, sending information to a supported printer, beaming information
from device to device (including Palm
™

®
CE devices). IrDA
is also supported.
