· Keep the appliance away from hot surfaces.
· Make sure that the cable is not twisted or kinked when used and stored.
· Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the appliance.
· Only use and store the appliance in dry rooms.
· Never use the appliance where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is
released.
· To prevent injuries, never use the appliance if the blade set is damaged.
· The appliance is safety insulated and radio screened. It meets the requirements of EU
Directive 2004/108/EC regarding electromagnetic compatibility and EC Low Voltage Directive
2006/95/EC.
Start-up
· Oil the blade set (Fig. 6).
· Connect to the mains power supply.
· Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 1

) and, after use, switch it off again

Cutting-length adjustment
· Without the attachment comb, the normal cutting length of the appliance is approx. 0.1 mm.
· The cutting length can be adjusted between 0.1 and 3 mm, even when the appliance is in
use.
· Slide down the locking switch (Fig. 2

)
· The adjustment lever at the side (fig. 3
ⓐ
) is used to select one of six settings for the blade
set (MultiClick).
· Sliding the locking switch upward (Fig. 2
ⓑ
) unlocks the setting and restores the normal cut-
ting length of approx. 0.1 mm.
Cutting with attachment combs (depending on model)
The appliance can also be operated with attachment combs. In this case, the cutting length
adjustment lever (Fig. 3
ⓑ
) must be released by pushing the locking switch upward (Fig. 2
ⓑ
).
Depending on the model, various attachment combs are included in the scope of supply.
Attachment combs #1 (4.5 mm), #2 (6 mm), #3 (9 mm), #4 (14 mm), #5 (19 mm) and an adjust-
able attachment comb (4 - 18 mm) are also optionally available as accessories.
Attaching/removing the attachment comb
· Slide the attachment comb on to the blade set in the direction of the arrow until it reaches the
limit stop (Fig. 4
ⓐ
).
· The attachment comb can be removed by pushing it in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 4
ⓑ
).
Changing the bottom blade and the top blade
· Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 1
ⓑ
).
· Disconnect from the mains power supply.
· Warning! The cutting lengths adjustment lever (B) must not be locked. By pushing the wheel
lock (E) upwards (fig. 2
ⓑ
) this can be unlocked.
· Press locking lever (I) downwards (Fig. 7
ⓐ
) and, at the same time, grip the bottom blade by
the shaped recesses (L) in its sides (Fig. 7
ⓑ
) and, pressing down on the locking lever, pull
off the appliance (Fig. 8
ⓐ
).
· Push the top blade down and remove it (Fig. 8

).
