The annual service should include the following checks:
• Wheels and tyres
• Check on batteries, cables and electrical connections
• The controller's programming in relation to the user's requirements
• General check of the frame and fasteners, such as nuts and bolts
• Check on coverings and upholstery
18.2 Ordinary maintenance
• Clean the controller and the joystick
• Clean the frame and the upholstery to prevent any build up of dirt
• Check that the electrical connections are hooked up properly
• Keep the wheels clean of dirt and residue of any kind
• Lightly lubricate the wheel axles and springs every 3 months if necessary
• Inspect the tyres. The tread should not wear more than 1.5 mm
• Charge the batteries regularly
• Check that the joystick works properly, and that it returns to the centre when released.

18.3 Cleaning and disinfection
• DO NOT immerse the device in water for any reason!
• Use only a damp cloth to clean your wheelchair and wipe gently to avoid damaging the
controller
N.B. For more thorough disinfection, use a small amount of neutral detergent and dry it off
very carefully, making sure that no fluid enters the device.
• Never use acid, alkali or solvents (acetone or diluent) to clean it
19. DISPOSAL CONDITIONS
19.1 General conditions of disposal
Never dispose of the product as normal domestic waste. Dispose of the product at a sorted
waste collection centre for recycling.
19.2 Instructions for correct disposal in accordance with
European directive 2012/19/EU:
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of together with normal urban
waste. It must be delivered to municipal separated waste collection facilities, or to appropriate
dealers that provide this service. Separated waste disposal helps to reduce possible negative
effects on the environment and health deriving from improper disposal and allows for
recycling the materials comprising the product, which translates into significant energy and
resource savings. The product bears the barred bin symbol to underline the obligation of
disposing of electro-medical equipment.
