8. ASSEMBLY
The MOPEDIA commode chair comes with a backrest and disassembled footplates (only for
models with footplates). Open the frame by grasping the external tubes and lock it in place
using the holed seat with the relative clips. For assembly of the backrest, it is sufficient to slide
the two ends of the tubes into the specific housings on the back of the seat. At this point, attach
the backrest using the clips provided.
Only for models with footplates - insert the footplates
on the outside of the commode chair, by inserting the upper part of the footplate onto the two
pins. The footrests must always be on the inside of the commode chair. To secure the footplate,
ensure that the locking lever is firmly secured on the inside of the commode seat.
8.1 Adjustment of the footplates (only for models with footplates)
It is possible to adjust the height of the footplates on the commode chair, in order to offer the
greatest comfort to the patient. Use the buttons on the side of the footplate itself to adjust it.
Press the button and slide the tube to the ideal height. Always check that the two footplates
are at the same height at the end.
8.2 Disassembly
Follow the assembly procedure in reverse.
9. BEFORE EVERY USE
• Check correct assembly of the device.
• Always check for wear and tear of moving mechanical parts, in order to ensure that the
device can be used in total safety for both people and property.
• Check correct functioning of the brakes on the rear wheels (only for models with wheels).
Insert the brakes on both wheels, push the chair gently backwards and forwards: the wheels
should not move.
10. WARNINGS ON USE
• The commode chair is only for internal use and it is not designed for use as a seat in
a motor vehicle;
• Always and only use the rear push bar to push the chair and never push it using other parts;
• Take particular care if the commode seat is being used on a sloping surface;
• Avoid sudden movements if it is necessary to stop on a sloping surface;
• If two people are lifting the commode chair, avoid gripping it at points that could be dangerous
to the patient, such as the footplates and armrests, and use only the frame and the rear grips;
• It is recommended to store the product away from sources of heat, as certain parts, such
as the covering of the backrest and the seat, the push handles and the armrests, if exposed
to sunlight, could reach temperatures that might damage the skin.
