SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
ENSURE THAT THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY TO THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN TURNED OFF BEFORE
DISMANTLING ANY COMPONENTS.
Maintenance
MUST
only be carried out by a competent person.
Routine Maintenance Procedure
1)
Turn
OFF
the electricity supply to the grill.
2)
Remove the top panel, the rear cover panel and the right hand control panel.
3)
Examine the wiring harness for over heating or ingress of moisture or grease.
4)
Check that all terminations to the 3 heat switch/es and elements are secure and that there is no heat
corrosion.
5)
Replace any defective wiring or components.
6)
Check that the elements and switches are wired correctly by connecting a multimeter to the switch
connections P1 and P2, set it to read the resistance in Ohms and check the switch positions are as
follows:-

7)
Replace all the panels and turn
ON
the electricity supply.
8)
Ensure that the green “mains on” neon’s alight.
9)
Turn ON the switch/es and note that the elements heat up.
10)
Turn the switch/es to
OFF
and turn Off the electricity supply.
Fault Finding
Symptom Possible
Cause Remedy
a) Neon lamp faulty
Replace
Mains isolator ON - green neon
OFF
b) External fuse blown
Replace. After checking all
possible reasons for failure.
No heat with switch/es On full
(3).– Amber neon OFF.
Fault in wire to switch.
Repair or replace wire.
a) Element failure
Replace element
Uneven heat at Low (1) & High
(3).
b) Wiring fault
Check wiring
