The cooktop does
not
need to be removed
from the countertop.
To remove the maintop:
Remove the valve knobs.
Remove each burner base. (See
Burner Base
.)
Lift the maintop from the burner box.

Ignitor
Note:
The following describes the procedure to
remove a single ignitor. The procedure to remove
the remaining ignitors is identical.
To remove the ignitor:
Remove the burner base. (See
Burner Base
.)
Use a small needle-nose pliers and remove the
clip and spring from the ignitor.

Pull out the ignitor from the burner base.

For added accessibility of components, after
removing the maintop, it may be helpful to remove
the top heat barrier by lifting it out of the burner
box.
