All enclosures must have ventilation holes to prevent gas
build-up in the event of a leak.
The enclosure shall have one side completely open or, at
a minimum, shall meet the requirements in ANSI Z21.58
for grill enclosures.
• Enclosure must have openings on 2 of the sides to
ensure that air flows through the enclosure
• Must have at least 2 ventilation openings within 1.5” of
the bottom floor and each be a minimum of 10 in
2

/lb. of stored fuel capacity, whichever is greater.
• Must have at least 2 ventilation openings approximately
4” from the top and each be a minimum of 20 in

• All openings shall be unobstructed and be a minimum
of 1/8” wide.
• Ventilation openings must be kept free and clear of debris.
