5. Position yourself where you are not directly in front of the heater, but where the pilot is clearly in view, then push
the control knob down fully and, while holding it down, immediately depress the ignitor button until a loud click
is heard. If the pilot does not light, continue to depress the ignitor at five-second intervals until the pilot is lit.
6. After the pilot is lit, continue to hold the control knob down for a minute and then release it. The control knob
should pop back up fully and the pilot should remain lit. If the pilot does not remain lit, repeat Steps 2 through 6.
• If the control knob does not pop up when released, stop and immediately and call your service technician or
gas supplier.
• If the pilot will not stay lit after several tries, turn the gas control knob clockwise
to “OFF” and call your
service technician or gas supplier.
7. When the pilot is lit and burning steadily, depress the control knob slightly and turn it counterclockwise
to
ON. When the knob reaches the ON setting, the main burner should ignite. If the main burner does not ignite,
turn the gas off at the shutoff valve and call your service technician or gas supplier.
