Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to the directive 89/336/EEC for
electromagnetic compatibility and to the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.
●
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range 0 – 40 °C).
●
The heat being generated in the unit has to be re-
moved via air circulation. Therefore, the air vents at
the housing must not be covered with any objects.
●
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
●
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is not operated correctly or not re-
paired in an expert way, there is no liability for pos-
sible damage.
●
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for disposal which is
not harmful to the environment.

Applications
This LCD colour monitor in TFT active matrix technol-
ogy offers a sharp, contrast-rich, and quick picture dis-
play. It is suitable for universal applications, e. g. in
video surveillance systems, in car rear monitoring
systems (mirror-inverted picture display can be se-
lected) or for multimedia applications. For audio repro-
duction a small speaker is built in.
4
Setting-up
With the supplied standing base the monitor can be
set up but it can also be mounted onto another support
with 6.3 mm (
1
/
4
") thread.
1) Place the standing base on a horizontal surface or
fasten it with screws for better stability. For wall
mounting fasten the standing base with screws to a
suitable place on the wall.
2) According to the desired angle of view the monitor
can be mounted in two ways:
a Tightly screw the monitor via by the thread (11)
to the lower side of the standing base.
b Loosely screw the supplied flat nut onto the
standing base. Slide the monitor with the guide
rail (10) onto the flat nut. Tightly fix the monitor
with the knurled nut at the standing base.
3) Release the setscrew at the standing base joint and
adjust the monitor inclination. Tighten the screw
again.
5
Connection
According to existing possibilities connect either the
monitor via the mini DIN inline jack (1) and the corre-
sponding adapter cable (fig. 1) or via the jacks on the
rear side (fig. 2).
For power supply of the monitor via the 230 V mains, a
regulated 12 V power supply unit with a continuous
output current of at least 700 mA is required
(e. g. MONACOR PS-1615ST).
5.1 Connection via the mini DIN inline jack
1) Connect the supplied adapter cable with the mini
DIN plug to the inline jack (1) – fig. 1.
2) Connect the video output of the signal source
(camera, video recorder, etc.) to the yellow phono
inline jack of the adapter cable.
3) Connect the audio output of the signal source to the
red phono inline jack.
4) Connect the negative pole of the 12 V voltage source
to the black core and the positive pole to the red core.
Attention! During installation in a car, the adapter
cable with the mini DIN inline jack must be used in
any case because only this cable contains a neces-
sary cable fuse (fig. 1).
Important! For mounting in a car the standing base
must tightly be screwed at a mechanically stable
place so that it does not get loose and turn into a
dangerous projectile together with the monitor.
5.2 Connection via the jacks AV IN and DC 12 V
1) Connect the supplied adapter cable with the
3.5 mm plug to jack AV IN (8) – fig. 2.
2) Connect the video output of the signal source
(camera, video recorder, etc.) to the white phono
plug of the adapter cable.
3) Connect the audio output of the signal source to the
red phono plug.
4) Connect the delivered power supply cable to jack
DC 12 V (7). Connect the positive pole of the 12 V
voltage source to the white coded core and the
negative pole to other core.
6
Operation
1) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (3). The
POWER LED (2) lights up.
2) Adjust the colour standard of the video source with
the selector switch P/N (15):
lower position =
NTSC (American and Japanese
standard)
upper position =
PAL (European standard)
3) Adjust the picture in an optimum way with the
brightness control BRIGHT (5) and the colour inten-
sity control COLOR (6).
4) Select the picture display:
Switch L/R (13)
lower position =
normal display
upper position =
mirror-inverted display
Switch UP/DOWN (14)
lower position =
correct display of picture
upper position =
picture is upside down
5) Adjust the VOLUME control (4).
6) Headphones with a 3.5 mm plug can be connected
to jack EARPHONE (9). Then the speaker (12) is
switched off.
7) After operation switch off the monitor with the
POWER switch (3).

Caution! Do not adjust the volume very high in
case of headphone operation. Permanent high
volumes may damage your hearing! The human
ear gets accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high any more after some
time. Therefore, do not further increase a high
volume which has once been adjusted after get-
ting used to it.
