8. Maintainance
Checking the backlash
The model is ready to run and can be put into operation directly. For optimum force transmission, however, occasionally the backlash bet-
ween motor pinion and main gear wheel should be checked. Only if the gear wheels mesh easily and without play, the engine power is fully
utilized and premature wear is avoided. The motor shaft and the drive shafts to the front and rear axles must be oriented exactly parallel and
the distance must be optimally adjusted.
Put a paper strip between the engine sprocket and the main gear wheel, and then rotate it manually.
•
If the paper strip tears when it is pulled in, the distance is too small. As a result, tensions in the drive train as well as premature wear of the
bearings in the clutch and the engine can occur.
•
If the distance is too large, the motorcycle can slip through. The result is jerking in the drive and premature wear of the gears.
•
To correct the distance, loosen the motor retaining screw and move the motor accordingly.
9. Regular Controls
Please check:
•
The model and the transmitter for visible damage
•
The tight fit of all screw connections; In operation, parts and screw connections can be caused by motor vibrations and solve vibrations
•
The smooth operation of all rotating / moving parts;
•
Plug connections on contact and cable for safe installation
•
The fixed seat of the articulation levers and of the servo arm on the servo shaft
•
The charge state of the transmitter and the batteries
•
The symmetrical adjustment of the dampers of an axis
•
The condition of the tires
Clean the cooling fins of the electric motor thoroughly.
Maintainance & Caring
The moving parts must be lubricated after each cleaning.
Leaking oil / grease must be thoroughly removed as dust can accumulate very well.
Maintenance work on the engine
You should not carry out any maintenance work on the engine yourself but leave it to the experts if you do not have the appropriate knowled-
ge and skills.
If you want to work on the engine yourself, you have to remove it first.
Please pay attention to the order of the connections for re-installation!
Check the running behavior and the bearings of the engine by turning on the motor shaft. If necessary, disassemble the engine and carefully
clean the parts and bearings using a commercially available brake cleaner. Lubricate bearings with ball bearing oil
Adjustment of the camber at the front and rear axle
Adjusting the camber is done by means of the tensioning
screws (arrow) in the upper crossbars. Turning the tensio-
ning screw clockwise (forwards) shortens the crossbar, the
wheel is pulled upwards in the direction of „negative fall“.
Turn the tensioning screw counterclockwise (after Rear) ex-
tends the crossbar, the wheel is pushed upwards outwards
towards „positive fall“.
