• When all LEDs flash, shortly press the button at the speed controller. The green LED is lit. Now

move the throttle lever into the full throttle forwards position at the transmitter. Keep the lever
in this position for one second. Then put the throttle lever in its neutral position and leave it there
for one second as well. The green LED goes out and the red LED is lit. Then put the transmitter’s
throttle lever in the full throttle reverse position for one second, then in the neutral position.
While you are in the full throttle backwards position, the red LED is lit. After switching to neutral
position, the red and green LEDs remain lit. Once you have programmed the speed controller
to the LiPo battery type, the blue LED is lit additionally. Programming of the control direction
for forwards/reverse, the respective full throttle positions and the neutral position are com-
pleted. The speed controller is in the neutral position and ready for operation.

• Switch off the speed controller.
• Disconnect the rechargeable battery from the speed controller.

The function ”Calibrate speed controller with transmitter” is usually used to pro-
gramme your speed controller as best possible. With the large number of remote
control manufacturers and their factory-side settings or production tolerances, it is
possible that the transmitter’s ”full throttle forwards” and/or ”full throttle reverse” may
not switch the speed controller to full output.
Full output is indicated when driving forwards by a permanently lit green LED, in
reverse operation by a permanently lit red LED. If this is not the case (LED is not lit),
re-teach the speed controller in the full throttle position for best performance.
During teaching, do not set the transmitter’s throttle lever to 100%, but to no more than
95% of the mechanically possible setting path to indicate the full throttle positions. For
computer transmitters, the “Servo path settings” menu can be used alternatively to set
a corresponding value above 100%.

Commissioning of the Vehicle

Caution!

Place the model vehicle so that the drive wheels do not touch the ground or any objects
(e.g. by a suitable mounting stand). Do not touch the drive mechanism and do not
block it! Risk of injury!

• Switch on your transmitter. (Check battery state!) Put the trim controls in centre position. Put

the throttle in neutral position and let go of it.

• The switch on the speed controller must be set to the “OFF” position.
• Insert the battery pack into the vehicle and connect it to the speed controller.
• First switch on the speed controller (switch to the “ON” position). All speed controller LEDs

flash. After approx. 2 seconds the speed controller’s self test is completed. Now the red and
green LEDs are lit (for LiPo batteries also the blue LED). The speed controller is now ready for
operation.

Attention!

Where the transmitter’s mechanical neutral position is misadjusted, e.g. due to
trimming, the respective deviating control signals are also sent by the transmitter.
However, the speed controller can only process a deviating neutral position within a
certain control range. Where the transmitter is too badly “mis-trimmed”, the speed
controller may react with immediate motor start-up after the self-test! Risk of injury!

Operating Information

Please note:
This speed controller has no integrated programmed braking function. The controller reacts
without delay to the control signals. If the throttle lever is put in the reverse position while driving
forwards, this achieves a “braking effect”. The stronger and longer you move the throttle lever in
the reverse direction, the stronger the braking effect. In extreme cases, overdosage of the braking
function will lead to immediate turning of the drive wheels in the opposite direction.

Rapid driving (frequent changes from full throttle forwards to full throttle backwards)
increases wear of gear and tyres. Power consumption is also increased and will
shorten the driving time. Therefore, we recommend to use the “braking function”
carefully or only to start driving again when the model has stopped.

If you set full throttle forwards at your transmitter, the green LED at the speed controller has to
be lit and your model must move forwards. If this is not the case, swap the two motor connections.
If the transmitter signal is lost, the speed controller turns off the motor for safety reasons (the
steering servo will vibrate, however, if no failsafe is installed). The red LED flashes in this case.
When the LiPo battery type is programmed, the blue LED is also lit. Function is only present if
no separate fail safe is present.
The speed controller switches off in case of overtemperature of the speed controller (see
”technical data”). In this case, verify, e.g., the transmission and easy running of the drive. Also
check that the speed controller is exposed to enough driving wind (cooling air). If the speed
controller heats up slowly, the speed controller’s output is reduced when the inner temperature
reaches approx. 80°C. In case of quick heating, the electronics switches off the controller
completely at approx. 90°C. In both cases, stop driving immediately. The speed controller will
work as usually again after the inner temperature cools off to approx. 40°C. Find the reason for
overheating anyway and remove the defect permanently.
If the speed controller/motor does not work or if moving the throttle does not cause the motor to
run, switch off the speed controller. Check neutral position on the transmitter. Put the drive trim
control in centre position and let go of the throttle (or put it in centre position as well). Check if the
transmitter is switched on, if the correct crystals are used and if the batteries/rechargeable
batteries in the transmitter and the vehicle are charged.
The speed controller is protected from splashing water but must not be operated in or under
water! The on/off switch and, of course, the plug connections, however, have to be protected from
moisture and wetness appropriately.

End of Operation

• First switch off the speed controller (put switch in the “OFF” position).
• Disconnect the rechargeable battery from the speed controller.
• Now switch off the transmitter.
