Checks before every use
It is important that the tool is checked for damage before each use (e.g., creased or missing parts, cracks,
worn-out teeth side, rust, the condition of the harp closure).
A damaged tool may never be used.
If damage is found, notify the responsible personnel for further action.
After any repairs, the tool must be inspected again by a recognized inspection body.
6.
Use of tool
1.
Insert a hook on each side of the cable reel through the lifting holes with the teeth side facing down;
2.
Attach the harp closures to the 2-legged chain sling or hoisting straps.
Make sure that both the hooks and the hoisting holes of the cable reel are free of oil or
other pollution. If necessary, these must be cleaned before starting with the lifting work.
Always use 2 identical hooks to ensure that the movement of a cable reel runs smoothly.
Lift the cable reel at a small height. Due to the weight of the cable reel, the hooks with the
teeth in the hoisting holes will be blocked. Check if all hooks are locked and the cable reel
hangs horizontally in the hoisting equipment. If this is not the case, lower the cable reel
on a stable surface and improve the position of the hooks.
