Operator’s Guide (for Imagestore 750s)
condition. Blue is associated with video effects and violet with voice-overs and audio
breakaway.
Source selection buttons can be assigned specific colors (green, red, yellow, or white).
High-tally indicates the button function is selected or active; low-tally indicates that the button
function is not selected or is inactive.
Some buttons are
toggles.
Pressing a deselected toggle button will cause it to become selected.
Pressing a selected toggle button will make it deselected.
Some groups of buttons operate as a mutually exclusive set. Pressing a deselected button will
cause it to become selected and all other buttons in the set to become deselected.
There are two types of mutually exclusive buttons:
1 Pressing a selected button makes it deselected. (One or none is selected.)
2 Pressing a selected button has no effect. (Exactly one is selected.)
Panel Knobs
Turning a knob clockwise increases the associated value until the maximum value is reached.
After that, turning the knob clockwise has no effect.
Turning the knob counter-clockwise decreases the associated value until the minimum value is
reached. After that, turning the knob counter-clockwise has no effect.
The 8 menu knobs are enabled or disabled as required by the menu being displayed. The knobs
that are enabled are indicated by a nearby green “asterisk” on the touchscreen. Turning a
disabled knob has no effect.
LCD Touchscreen
The touchscreen and its 8 associated knobs provides a set of menus in which you can do the
following:
•
Select a channel (i.e., Imagestore 750, MCE, or MCPM).
•
Select an Intuition XG clip or a DVE.
•
Control the size and position of DSKs.
•
Manipulate audio.
•
Perform panel maintenance and updates.
The menu system has a scrollbar with which to select items. You can use the menu knobs to “dial
in” a parameter value or you can enter a value using a touchscreen keypad.
The LCD is a
touchscreen
: you “press” buttons on the screen itself to perform menu selections.

Avoid using pencils, pens, erasers, or anything abrasive on the touchscreen.
Joystick
The joystick helps you make certain parameter adjustments. For instance, you can adjust the
size and position of DSKs using the joystick.
The joystick has 2 buttons and a knurled cylinder that the operator turns to control a third axis.
