P
OWER
The miniDSP Balanced Kit cannot be powered from USB, and must have a 12 VDC power supply connected.
5.2.1
Standalone mode
In standalone mode, when the miniDSP Balanced board is used without a miniDIGI or miniAMP, 12 VDC power
must be supplied either to the Phoenix connector or the round barrel connector (depending on the version), as
shown here:
Double-check that power connections are the correct polarity before applying power.
5.2.2
Stacked (with miniDIGI)
When stacked with a miniDIGI (or miniAMP), the miniDSP Balanced board can receive its power over the
expansion header cables. In that case, the other board requires a 12 to 18 VDC connection. (A higher voltage is
acceptable in this case, as a voltage divider allows a wider range of supply voltages.)
The stack must not be supplied with greater than 18 V, or overheating and damage may result.
